چکیده

The mixing transport courses of three-phase particle flows exist in some industrial applications, such as metallurgy material extraction, lithium electric slurry dispersion, and the high-end chemical industry. Its mechanism is a fluid–structure coupling dynamic issues with intensive shear nonlinear characteristics, making real-time prediction flow field face challenges. To address above problem, bidirectional model built based on coupled computational fluid dynamics discrete element (CFD-DEM) to explore mechanism. An interphase solution method utilized solve interaction effects particle. Research results illustrate that proposed modeling can well reveal flows. Due additive stirring speed, blade size, structure, near has high-velocity gradient change, while away from no significant change. When settles accumulates certain extent, movement blocked, speed reduced. effect will be reduced wall. It provide valuable reference for pattern identification support technical homogenate mixing, pharmacy process regulation.

SediFoam: A general-purpose, open-source CFD-DEM solver for particle-laden flow with emphasis on sediment transport

With the growth of available computational resource, CFD–DEM (computational fluid dynamics–discrete element method) becomes an increasingly promising and feasible approach for the study of sediment transport. Several existing CFD–DEM solvers are applied in chemical engineering and mining industry. However, a robust CFD–DEM solver for the simulation of sediment transport is still desirable. In t...

Three-phase CFD analytical modeling of blood flow.

The behavior of blood cells in disturbed flow regions of arteries has significant relevance for understanding atherogenesis. However, their distribution with red blood cells (RBCs) and leukocytes is not so well studied and understood. Our three-phase computational fluid dynamics approach including plasma, RBCs, and leukocytes was used to numerically simulate the local hemodynamics in such a flo...

Parallel Open Source Cfd-dem for Resolved Particle-fluid Interaction

In the following paper we present a parallelized resolved method for the simulation of the dynamics of immersed bodies within fluids. The algorithm uses the so called Fictitious Domain Method (FDM) and combines the Lagrangian Discrete Element Method (DEM) for the tracking of the bodies and a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method for the calculation of the flow and pressure field of the flui...
